Their origin story is pure Midwest magic, raised on steam shows, history, and the kind of grit you have to live to understand. It started in the small town of Rollag, Minnesota at the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion where both Kory and Ali grew up living the grit of early American industry and learning to honor what built this country. In 2019, Kory was debuting the 150 HP Case, the largest steam engine on earth, a machine he had poured years of blood and stubborn faith into building from scratch. Under that towering engine, two people met who both believed the same thing: the past is worth preserving, and the future is worth building.

Kory was born and raised in Andover, South Dakota, population 91, a place that teaches you to dream big or stay small, and he chose BIG. He dropped out of college, trusted his hands, and at 22 started portable welding out of his garage, hustling to help fund the 150 Case project that lived in his heart long before it took shape in steel. Ali’s path looked totally different, until it didn’t. She graduated with honors from Colorado State in supply chain and marketing, then became a global consultant driving major change for Fortune 100 companies. But when she met Kory, she saw the kind of mission you do not just support, you join. So she walked away from corporate America and stepped into the build with him.

In 2021 they moved to Lakeside, Montana, chasing faith, roots, and a life they wanted their future family to grow up inside. They married in 2022 and now they are raising two daughters, Selah and Livvy, while turning a garage-built welding dream into a full-blown American-made ecosystem. Nonprofit trades training, publishing, real estate, additional foundries, Spartan Pattern, Iron Warrior, and more, all expanding because they keep saying yes to the next hard thing. Together, Kory and Ali are building a legacy that proves you can fall in love, bet on a mission, and still reshape the future of American industry side by side.
Today, our family of brands spans iron castings and patternmaking, patented product innovation, fitness equipment, youth trades training, publishing, nonprofit giveback, real estate, and more. What ties it all together is capability with backbone: we design, build, and scale American made solutions from the ground up, whether that is a casting for industry, a product for everyday people, or a program that trains the next generation. This is not a side-by-side collection of businesses, it is one ecosystem built to serve real needs with craftsmanship at the center.

We do this because American manufacturing is worth fighting for. We believe the skilled trades are not a backup plan, they are a calling that built this country and still holds its future. Every brand we grow is a vote for craftsmanship, self-reliance, and products made right here at home.
We show up in Washington, DC because the future of American industry is shaped by the decisions made there. We advocate for manufacturing, small business, and the skilled trades so the people who build America have a voice at the table. It is not politics for us, it is protection of the work we love and the communities that depend on it.
We built our nonprofit and training programs to do more than celebrate the trades, we want to multiply them. Through hands-on welding and maker education, we are giving young people a real path to skill, confidence, and purpose. If we can raise up a generation that knows how to build, repair, and lead, then American manufacturing stays alive for decades to come.
We produce iron and aluminum castings right here in America. From charge to pour to finish, every step is built around consistency, integrity, and performance in the field. Ready to build something?
Kory Anderson is a Guinness World Record holder for building and debuting the 150 Case steam engine, the largest steam engine in the world. Built from 250+ unique castings at his iron foundry, the journey took 12 years and garnered 60+ million views on YouTube!

We're proud to have our iron foundry, Dakota Foundry, named Top 100 Small Business in America by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Earning this title in the category of "Enduring Business", we are honored to put foundry work on a national stage and highlight the importance of American manufacturing.

"Billy the Lost Boiler" is an award-winning children's book written by Ali Anderson and based on a true story of Kory Anderson building the 150 Case steam engine. The story inspires children to get involved in the skilled trades, seek God's guidance, and find meaning in their purpose. Each book benefits the Iron Warrior Academy. It hit #1 Hot New Release on Amazon in its debut week (in 3 categories!).
Iron Warrior is the heartbeat that runs through every Anderson company. From foundry to classroom to gym floor, our goal is simple: make Iron Warriors — people of discipline, skill, and unshakable character. Though Iron Warrior stands as its own brand, its creed guides everything we build, teach, and ship across the Anderson family:
Discipline – The first step toward strength.
Knowledge – The mind forged alongside the body.
Grit – The courage to keep going.
Mastery – Skill shaped by time and purpose.
Mentorship – Strength shared to build others.
Legacy – What endures when the work is done.
Iron Warrior is where American grit, character, and craftsmanship meet—shaping people as solid as the products they hold.

We come from steam threshing culture, where history is not a museum piece but a living craft. Preserving early American industry matters because it reminds us what this country was built on. When we honor the past, we protect the standards that still make work worth doing today.

Kory’s Guinness World Record steam engine and the Rollag debut are not just milestones, they are proof that American ingenuity still runs hot. We rebuild, restore, and demonstrate machinery the same way it was done a century ago. This is hands-on preservation that keeps the skills, stories, and spirit of American making alive.

Preservation is pointless if it ends with us, so we bring kids and young builders into it. Through shows, storytelling, and training, we connect the next generation to the trades that shaped America. Our goal is simple: let them see it, touch it, learn it, and carry it forward.
